Industrial Access Romania, the leader of the Romanian market for mobile elevating working platforms brings the largest self-propelled telescopic boom lift in the world to Romania: 1500SJ.

1500SJ is the only aerial work platform of this model that has ever been purchased by a company in Eastern Europe. The model has been released in 2011 at Conexpo-Con/AGG, taking place in Las Vegas, as the most important fair for the construction industry in the USA.

Bucharest, January 2012: Industrial Access Romania has added to its fleet the 1500 SJ model, produced by the world’s leading brand, JLG.

At this time, only 27 work platforms of this kind are ordered in Europe, out of which 20 in Benelux, 6 in Western Europe and 1 in Eastern Europe, the latter being ordered by Industrial Access.

The cost effectiveness of this equipment is above the average of the other more than 800 machines that we include at this moment in the fleet of Industrial Access. We expect an investment return period of 3-4 years, as opposed to the general average of other pieces of equipment that reaches up to 10 years. Having in view the exclusivity character of this purchase in Eastern Europe, the rental price of the aerial working platform model 1500SJ will be of 12.000 EURO/month, and is therefore 40% higher than the rental price charged for the previous model of the series” points out Stefan Ponea, the CEO & Managing Partner of Industrial Access.

This model ensures not only work access up to a height of approximately 50 meters in maximum productivity and safety conditions, but also attention to the functionality and the aesthetics of the surrounding area. Therefore, in situations similar to the construction works that are currently being carried out at the National Theatre in Bucharest, the scaffolds that presently surround the building and that are hindering the pedestrian traffic and impact the aesthetics of the centre of the city would not be needed anymore if the aerial work platform 1500SJ were employed.

1500SJ is an innovating model for its own equipment category, which generally requires special transportation conditions and the payment of transportation related fees. Its compact design was created so that the transport of the equipment can be performed on a regular trailer and eliminating the payment of fees for oversize transports.

Such equipment is perfect for construction projects like shipyards or power-plants, and features a Tier III engine, which includes one of the newest technologies for the reduction of emissions.  Having in view the ease at use of the equipment it represents an efficient solution for the mounting of publicity panes at height.
1500SJ is:

  • An aerial work platform with telescopic boom that reaches up to a height of 47,7 m;
  • The only aerial work platform of this kind in Eastern Europe;
  • The highest work platform with self-propelled telescopic boom in the world;
  • The equivalent of an 18 stories apartment building.

1500SJ offers:

  • Minimal transportation costs;
  • Maximum safety and productivity;
  • Platform capacity of 450 kg compared to the standard accepted capacity of 230 kg.

Aerial work platforms, the most progressed equipment for tall building sites
The most progressed equipment for tall building sites, the mobile elevating working platform (MEWP), has quite a recent history that starts at the end of the ‘60s, when John L. Grove withdrew from the crane factory that he had set up together with his brother and that had become by then a leader in the field.  On a cross country road trip that he made together with his wife he stopped in order to pay a visit to an old business associate. Following this meeting he identified a new market niche that was untapped and was generated by the need for a product that would allow people to safely and quickly work at heights. This vacation gave therefore birth to the world’s largest producer of mobile aerial work platforms, JLG. The first aerial work platform was built in 1970 and the first equipment of this category have entered Europe in 1977.
